So I have already reviewed this axe but I just wanted to add one thing…I don’t know why there are so few actual reviews on this website but if you have any doubt about this company or the quality of their tools just check out the Etsy store. Tons of reviews there and last time I checked they are all 5 stars…from all over.
Sorry to leave this general comment on the axe but I couldn’t figure out where else to put it.

I was unsure which carving axe to get (there are so many…plus I’m kinda new at carving axes) so I asked Anastasiia for advice. She took my question to the craftsmen (apparently in addition to hand forging tools they are also wood carvers…now we know why the tools are so good) and this axe was their recommendation. So, with all my prior purchases & satisfactory experiences I fully trusted this advice and am the proud owner of this axe. I couldn’t be happier…it is exactly what I was looking for. By the way, the octagonal handle is definitely the way to go.
